Big news to report. We were in California attending RM Auctions’ Sports & Classics of Monterey. A classic car lovers dream! Up for auction… the 1949 Delahaye 175 S Saoutchik Roadster. Known throughout the world as one of the most important automobiles produced right after World War II. At the Concours d’Elegance it earned best in class back in 2006. This is an amazing car and an amazing addition to our collection.
Ever wonder how Leonardo da Vinci could make this masteful paintings with intricate shadows that made the subject so life like? Well you are not alone. For years — decades even — researchers have been trying to study it. And it looks like they have finally made an impressive break through. This story looks into the lengths French Researchers have gone to unravel the mystery and the results of their labor! For classic art lovers like me, it’s a very interesting read.
Cowboys could make history this season. No team has ever played the Super Bowl at home. But with the Super Bowl coming to Dallas and the team in contention we could be seeing a late home game here. Today is the first day of camp. If you are a Cowboys fan you are following all the latest and greatest. New additions, new year. Will be exciting.
I’m an avid golfer. Love it. Been lucky and fortunate enough to play on courses all over the world. The British Open is in full swing right now. I thought I’d share this little montage of some of the outfits making there way on to the course. I may have had some eye catching golf attire in my days out on the course so I thought this was worth passing along.
I love coming across little undiscovered gems. In Upstate New York they have a thriving classic car museum in Saratoga Springs — The Saratoga Automobile Museum. Apparently it’s very active with yearly programs and exhibits. It was set up in an old water bottling plant in the city. Nice thing to check out online or if you are lucky enough to get there in person.
David Disiere is a man of varied interests but they do have a common component—they each express a classic sensibility. David owns an enviable collection of classic American automotive prototypes, an impressive collection of Italian Baroque art, and he’s so enamored with the classic sport of golf that he participates in, and financially supports, many charitable golf tournaments around the country each year.
